What  Is A Hackathon and Why?

WHAT?

A hackathon is an event, where programmers get together for a short period of time to collaborate and work rapidly to achieve their task on a project.

WHY?

During the COVID-19 pandemic, in-person hackathons are no longer possible, but The Scientific Teen wants to empower students to challenge their programming skills this year virtually!

HOW?

We will be running a virtual hackathon through Zoom, Slack, and GitHub but with very real prizes for participants and winners!

Here's some more information about HackTST:

We would be holding HackTST on October 17th, along with orientations, workshops, and other exciting things between October 9th to 17th.

Participants would be required to agree to all the rules and regulations of HackTST. Participants may form a team of two to four members and can choose among the following topics:

  • COVID-19

  • Public Health / Epidemiology

  • Genomics

  • Machine Learning

  • AR/VR - Based Project
